Meet the Parkside Team

Our talented team love what we do. What we love most is helping you return to the fun activities that give your life meaning. We are local, University-trained movement professionals who offer safe, effective relief from pain and injury. We use our experience, skills and expertise to help you reach your personal best.

 

Matt McEwan

Director, Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

Matt has seen more 50,000 clients over 30 years of work as a Sports Physio. His insatiable thirst for knowledge helps Parkside stay at the cutting edge of contemporary sports medicine and rehab. Matt has worked with National and International athletes in cycling, triathlon, netball, soccer and BMX but gets the most satisfaction from helping local Mums and Dads smash their sporting goals.
Matt consults 3 days a week and spends the rest of the week training, developing and mentoring the Parkside team.

Jay McGuinness

Jay McGuinness

Senior Physiotherapist
Jay joined the Parkside team in early 2018 . He has a strong interest in sporting injuries and when he’s not working he is playing semi-professional soccer in Illawarra Premier League.  He also provides clinical education, mentoring and support to the physio team at Parkside. Jay has worked in the Cronulla Sharks Development system, spent 12 months in 2022/23 in the UK working for EPL club Sheffield United FC, and is now working in the NRL as Physiotherapist for the Wests Tigers  Jay is currently only available Wednesday afternoons.

 

Shaylee Pyett

Shaylee Pyett

Physiotherapist

Shaylee joined us in 2020 after graduating from ACU. Shaylee has a strong interest in swimming, competing at State and National Surf Lifesaving Championships as well as teaching learn-to-swim and squad coaching. Shaylee loves helping her patients recover from shoulder injuries, has an interest in surgical rehab and kids sporting injuries.  Shaylee pioneered our Parkside Power neuroactive exercise program for people with Parkinson’s disease.

 

Olivia Rooney

Physiotherapist

Olivia joined the Parkside team in 2024 after graduating from ACU’s Bachelor of Physiotherapy program. Liv is a former elite gymnast and has experience working in occupational rehab, paediatric and disability fields while studying but her real passion is Sports and orthopaedic rehab to get you back to doing the activities you love.

 

Josh Speechley

Physiotherapist

Josh joined our team in 2024 after graduating with a Masters of Physiotherapy at Sydney Uni in 2022.  He has gained experience in Private Practice and in elite Golf Physiotherapy, working for NSWPGA and tournament coverage since graduating and joins our team 3 days a week.

 

Eoghan Rosser

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Eoghan (pronounced “Owen”) joined us in 2022 to continue our Exercise Physiology services.  Eoghan has experience in private practice multi-disciplinary teams providing Exercise Physiology and Pilates. He uses his exercise prescription knowledge and skills to help with health issues such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and muscle and joint rehab as well as neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease. When not working Eoghan enjoys playing soccer and golf.
