Covid 19 Update

NSW Public Health Orders currently require certain businesses to take reasonable steps to prevent unvaccinated patrons entering their premises. Despite being classed as “essential work” and ‘authorised workers” open throughout every lockdown, primary-contact Allied Health facilities like Parkside Sports Physiotherapy are not currently included in these Public Health Orders. Businesses including cafes, gyms and personal care businesses are subject to more stringent restrictions under current Public Health Orders.

After performing a risk assessment, we have identified ourselves as a Tier 2 workplace according to Fair Work Australia’s classification

Tier 2 work, where employees are required to have close contact with people who are particularly vulnerable to the health impacts of coronavirus (for example, employees working in health care or aged care).

It is also apparent that our normal work involves close contact within 1.5 metres, often for prolonged periods of time, and that our team lives and works in areas that have differing levels of vaccination and community transmission from time to time.

To manage work health and safety risks we are introducing the following conditions for attending Parkside Sports Physiotherapy for face-to-face Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology appointments. Prior to admission for your appointment, we ask our clients to:

  • Provide evidence of Covid-19 vaccination (unless you hold a medical exemption, or are ineligible for completed vaccine rollout due to age)

If you are unable or unwilling to provide proof of vaccination, please choose one option from the following

  • Provide evidence of negative Covid-19 test result, undertaken in preceding 48 hours OR,
  • Undergo Rapid Antigen testing 15 minutes prior to appointment. This will be administered by Parkside staff kerbside in your car. This will be at client’s expense ($12)

If you are unable or unwilling to comply with these conditions, you will be offered a telehealth consultation.

If you would like to discuss this prior to an appointment, please email Director, Matt McEwan at matt@parksidesportsphysio.com.au

Proof of vaccination status and Rapid Antigen test results are classified as “Health Information” and requested only to manage work health and safety risk. This information will be stored securely in our usual clinical record keeping software and not released to third parties without consent.

Parkside Sports Physiotherapy takes seriously our obligations to provide a safe environment for our staff, our clients, and our wider communities. All our team are fully Covid-19 vaccinated and we are operating under a frequently reviewed Covid Safety Plan registered with NSW Health.

We appreciate your understanding of this decision, which was taken after significant consideration and consultation with our professional bodies, licensing authorities and State and Federal Government agencies.
